50 Things I have learned in my 50 Years
1. There is no perfect so quit trying, it will only make you sick.
2. Age 11 was just about perfect, no worrying about stuff except your banana seat bike; the wearing of the card and clothespin attached to the wheel; baseball cards; baseball bat, ball and glove; go go rings; clackers; transister radio; roller skates; blowing the biggest bubble and not getting it stuck to your face; getting in the house in time for dinner; and sneaking your dog into the bed with you.
3. God is always faithful, may not seem like it at the time but this is true.
4. Do what you like as long as it doesn't hurt others.
5. A clean house is NOT the most important thing
6. My Mom REALLY knew what she was talking about, if I could do it over I would listen for real
7. It is true that it is a decision to be happy, when I get up and tell myself I am going to be happy it just makes the day better, it does no good to wallow in the things that make us unhappy - all of us have both but we choose what we do with it - wallow or enjoy.
8. Having a positive attitude can cure almost anything, at least it makes it look better!!
9. People don't stop loving you just because you make a mistake, not the ones who realy love you anyway- (believe it or not - I used to think this??? )
10. Most of the time you really DO get what you pay for.
11. Do not put others on a pedistal - everyone has a fault - if you look at your friends and family as they really are, accepting them with their faults they won't disappoint you or at least when they do it won't be such a devasting event and it will be much easier to forgive, love, and reestablish the relationship.
12. Just because I cannot do something on the first try doesn't mean I can't. Just because I cannot do something on the second try doesn't mean I can't. Just because I cannot do something on third try doesn't mean I can't.............
13. I learned that there is value in information passed down (actually we skipped a generation and i am not sure how to explain this one) You know how Grandma just knew what veggies were good, what was in season when, how they grew and what they were good for etc...but for me it is like Mom forgot to let me in on it because you could get anything anytime at any store, fast food place...etc.....and Grandma knew all that cleaning stuff like taking the mattresses out to air and things I forget......I will probably have to think of a better way to say this.
14. You really can do more than you think you can.
15. Admit when you are wrong and take the steps to make things right especially in relationships but this applies everywhere.
